Model 40B Numbering & Lettering Press

This machine is designed for impressing letters and numbers in all kinds of products:
name plates, motor plates, Social Security plates, tags, keys, letter box plates,
house bell plates, dog collar plates, and similar flat metal parts.
.
The character dials are made of special high grade tool steel,
scientifically hardened and tempered.

The characters are carefully engraved and make clear cut impressions of uniform depth.
Standard dials are engraved with 42 characters as follows:

We can furnish different sizes of character heights as follows:
1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16"

The carriage table advances one space with each impression of the dial,
thereby replicating the process of a typewriter: rapid work, even spacing and perfect alignment.
.
After reaching the end of a line, the carriage can be returned quickly to the starting point.
Spacing is accomplished by a half stroke of the operating lever.

Plates up to 5" wide by unlimited height can be stamped to within 4-1/4" from top of plate.
A standard table is 6 x 8-1/2". We can furnish a longer table and rack if required.
A standard plate clamp, which clamps up to 1/8" thick plates, is furnished.
Depth of impression is adjustable by a knurled nut on the bottom of machine.

No experience is necessary to operate this press
and after a few hours practice any operator can produce neat and even work.

Note: Different size dials are interchangeable, but each size character requires a different spacing rack.
